Back from the holidays

Hey everybody

Yep, I still live...

Lots of stuff happened during the last two weeks. All the GAG members but me and Evgeny were at Do-It. They had lots of fun... done a lot of networking... Parties are good as far as I can judge from the pictures... you know, on Facebook...

Now we are in the hot phase of the project... everything is happening... we had a huge market research done by Vincent, calls by Usman, Daniel and Evgeny (already one meeting and lots of interested companies as far as I heard). Vishnu is still preparing the calls for the UN Agencies but he'll soon be ready. Marthe is doing administrative stuff in the background, Manuel is doing the liaison to Prof Bürgenmeier, who is interested to work with us.

Also we are in contact with IUCN for the TN, as well as support from the guys there...

Watch out AIESEC, we rock...

Do-It... and deception

Hey

I was so much looking forward to Do-It. Now I was destroyed when Stefan told me that I couldn't go. Apparently some people in Geneva did not appreciate my presence...

If I could cry, I would...

Anyway, to all the members of LC Geneva: I wish you a wonderful time up in the mountains. Especially the newies... Enjoy yourself as much as you can.

Hi readers

We did a team building, so we are officially a team. It was great, I am kinda tired so I will make this short.

Stefan's Laptop was destroyed, we did T-Shirts that you will see at Do-It and went out for a drink.

We also had a visit from Vince from Belgium... it was very nice...

So that's the team with me in the middle...

Hey AIESEC

What's up?

The young ones have arrived... Stefan did a really bad speech and I feared already that we won't get any new members... then I would have to do all of the work alone... Luckily we found enough new members crazy enough to go on the GAG ride...

As far as I can judge right now... they are very motivated and enthusiastic... looks great... far better than the bunch we had before... ;-)

No, I love the older guys as well...

What about this week...? We will have our teambuilding event today... We will have a special visit by our friend Vince from Belgium.

And this Thursday we will all go to Do-It... I heard from Stefan that there is always some mating going on there... So I guess I should be fine...

We still have to match two TNs... so we're up to so many things... it's wonderful...

Seems like everything is coming together...

Marmita is finally back from her holidays... We also got a new friend here, he's name is Pelle Pingu... He's a penguin and got a bit lost on his way from Antarctica East to Antarctica West... His story is kinda weird, so I can't tell you right now as I don't understand it myself really well. But I'll get into that as soon as possible and then I'll tell you... anyways, he ended up in Geneva where he now spends his time with us on top of the shelf...
Spending time on top of shelves... my long hours of Siesta have fallen short a bit... you know, Marmita wants to talk all the time... but she's cute in her ways... that's really cool...
I'm now here with two birds, but we get along pretty well...
I observed Sara and Stefan having a long meeting together. They seemed to be pretty happy themselves. They acted like complete fools before the meeting... but we had a really good time... I mean: It's "Hit the load, Jack"...

That's all from the social part...

We also took care of business... we set up the emails to be able to contact the companies... and we got our first TN... Stefan is taking care of it...

Everything else is fine, although Stefan seems to be worried a bit about something... But it can't be that bad, after all, he didn't tell me anything...

Heya...

Sara just got back... I am very happy about that... finally Stefan has again somebody to talk to besides me... you know, he talks a lot... sometimes...

Marmita is still not back, so that is not good... Please Sara, please, I beg you, bring her back... I really miss her... it's so lonely at the office at night...

GAGwise everything is going well, soon the new gaggers will show up... that will be an interesting task... We already prepare Tarun for heavy Entry Talk sessions... the rest will do calls tomorrow for some good start with the Newies...

The recruitment is on

I just wanna give you an update on the GAG activities...

Recruitment is going well, I have seen a lot of people here at the office. Tired people, stressed people, but also happy people. The GAG recruitment on Tuesday went well, there were quite some people interested in what we do. Stefan was pretty much all the time at the stand and Mansoor was also working his back off... I heard that the workshops were really cool... most of them... I unfortunately wasn't able to attend any because I had to sleep on top of my shelf...

Thanks anyways to the ID team for this superb effort and a great event...

Movie

Hi everybody

They finally showed me the movie... I guess it's pretty cool... I hate Stefan's voice on film, but everything else seems to be quite ok...

Since a couple of days Stefan is all the time at the office... that's pretty weird... we didn't even have time to talk lately...

I guess that's the recruitment. People always get weird during recruitments... I remember back at the warmplace when we had to recruit people for our yearly manhunt feast, that was also very stressful... but I hope these times will pass soon...

Sara is still in Lithuania, so in the evenings I am usually alone with Stef at the office... Marmita isn't here too... there are so many chickens I miss... I had a nice exchange of letters with Sarah, she seems to be very nice...

And I think I need to clarify something: I really like chicken... hehe... now start thinking... but no worries, nothing will happen to Marmita if she ever comes back...

I'm kind of tired so I will go back to my shelf and take a nap if Stefan turns off his music...

Movie thingy

Hey everybody

I can’t tell you how mad I am right now… well, actually, I can: I am very mad… Not only does our president ignore my wish to bring Marmita back (ok, that’s still acceptable given the fact that she really got a lot of stuff to do) but, which is a lot worse, my fellow project members, whom I always supported as much as I could, went out having a fun Sunday while they left me at the university. Stefan told me all about the fun day they had and I was not even there. I would have loved chilling out with Stefan, Tarun, Chris and Mansoor and do the little movie. But NO!!!. they just left me here at the university. Stefan said that they made a pretty cool movie, although they have some difficulties cutting it. They saved it with the wrong format… Just serves them right…

That is just not team spirit here, that is just not ok… Well anyway, I will not go on about it, I told Stefan what I think of him and now it’s fine. We are still one team and I think that he will not dare to leave me at home another time when they do something fun.

Everything else is working pretty well, we had some interesting discussions, Stefan and me, and we think we should speed up the pace a bit. The calling day did not take place, because everybody is too engaged in other things… but we will do individual calling practices. Stefan and me will sit together with each member in the office and do some calls to kickstart the thing.

This is going to be a very good thing.

Next Monday the GAG will engage in a Calling Day, producing results... we will have a lot of fun...

Hey

Just do a quick update on things happening in the office...

I was able to sleep pretty well (after Stefan finally left...) but I got woken up pretty early... Prash seems to have a lot of work to do...

I surprisingly miss Marmita a bit... I mean of course she talks a lot and all (you know... women...) but with her at least there is always someone around. I hope she comes back soon from her holydays at ACT and somewhere else...

Ok, we're not good bloggers...

Obviously we don't have any pictures yet, there is one old, old entry and everybody thinks we are not doing anything...

But we are... the prepwork is done, we are set to rumble... all the documents are done, all the lists are done, now we are going for the fun part...

We got one TN almost raised... and we got two TNs to match from next week on... we really got motivated members here, very diverse people, a Media Departement, a lot of nationalities (9 different backgrounds), we're 8 members, 7 of them human, 9 languages... we're disciplined, fun and ... yes, fun... ;-)

The semester started so we are all getting set for university, and next week we will rock the house...

Now the members (pictures will follow, promised, Teambuilding Event on Sunday...)

There is Stefan, the guy who had the idea for this project... very motivated guy, very nice, still single ;-), likes to work on documents, does it all the time, likes to hassle and has a faible for asskicking...

Then there is Mansoor, top seller right now, always arguing, addicted to Snooker, always doing something else but never his job... still somehow getting points on the board... taking initiatives... very good guy...

Next, there is Evgeny, Vice PM, always present, Russian by nature, webforum organizer, IT guy, very motivated, finally got a laptop now...

Then there is Tarun, most international person of the gang, the artist, music, graphics, Teambuilding responsible, hard to catch on the phone... part of the Mediateam, Webster...

Then there is Anna, the female touch of the pack, still new to Organisation, but really catching the fire... part of the Media team, very reliable, part of the eastern connection (those who speak russian all the time...)

Next there is Manuel, senior (and I mean, really senior) member, Media adviser, councellor, always helpful

Then there is Alex, the newest member, EP candidate, IT guy, going to be responsible for the website...

... and last but not at all least there is me, Alan Greenster, lizard by nature, looking like a dragon, very friendly, always present at the office, good listener, with my own Facebook account, happy guy...

There are great things going to happen, I am sure, for this is a great bunch of humans...

And we talked to a lot of people, so there might soon be even more... (in case interns read that too... WE LOVE INTERNS!!! ;-)) (actually, Stefan made me write that...)

... but we really love them... we really, really do...

After having cleared that up, I think I finish and go back to my shelf, because I need some sleep... (I just hope Stefan leaves soon, then I can sleep quietly (he's calling so many people lately, nobody can sleep under these circumstances...))

Anyway, I love you all, sleep tight for all those who do...

The GAG is on...

Yep you heard right, the GAG is on… but not any ordinary gag… it’s AIESEC Geneva’s newest member of the PboX family… finally we came to life and start doing good stuff.

The GAG is actually no joke… our name is Green Action Geneva. Sounds like a militant group of environmentalists and this is good, because we have to get going about the environment. No worries though for you, EB and MC, we didn’t forget about the indirect approach… we will leave the fun to the others and just do the learning about the environment… ;-)

The GAG means also that we start the Get-Al-Gore-Initiative… we will keep you up to date about this development…

We are a pretty confident bunch of people but we never forget that in order to be productive we need to have fun… so we already started a new tradition that is going to play Snooker/Pool after the meetings…

We are open to new ideas, new points, new opinions… so if you want to be part of one of the most dynamic teams ever… (ok, at least for the moment…) then write an email to greenactiongeneva@gmail.com
